Wade has had the joy of serving in Tanzania with Kimbra and two of his children for ten years

Adam Swann

Pastor of Youth and Families

Adam grew up in Gadsden and his love for Etowah County runs deep. He believes that the grass is greener where you water it so he came to Rainbow believing it to be God’s place for him to water this community he cares for so much.
Adam came to faith as a teenager and immediately knew God was calling him to devote his life to serving the church. He believes the greatest sound in the world is God’s people singing his praises together and he has a deep desire to help people understand the Scriptures and how to live their lives in response to God’s mercy and grace.
He and his wife Laura were married at Rainbow Presbyterian Church in 2005 and they have two beautiful children through the blessing of adoption. A son named Raylan Jude and a daughter named Ava Grace. They reside in Rainbow City and love their neighborhood and neighbors.
People are the most important thing in life to Adam so he enjoys spending his time with family and friends and having people to their home. He loves listening to music and playing music, running, and is a passionate Atlanta Braves fan.

Tori Propes

Director of Children's Ministry

I am so overjoyed to be here at Rainbow Presbyterian Church, as your Children’s Director, and to dive in and get to live in a community with all of you! I moved here to Gadsden from Nashville to be close to family and to enable me to become active in the lives of my nephews and nieces, never imagining it would be quite this literal.
One verse I have always loved and lived by is Esther 4:14 “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” I love this calling that God is inviting us into his work. He can do it without us, but he chooses to use us.  When considering a move, whether it be to Nashville, Peru, or Gadsden, I ask myself, “is it possible that I have come to the kingdom for such a time as this”?
God has given me such a strong base for a family. They have raised me in a home where all our family goals are centered and anchored in glorifying God in all we do. It has created such a deep bond for us. Sometimes moving has taken me far away from them, but they have always been supportive when my goal is to glorify God. I love my family and I am so excited to get the opportunity to walk alongside and encourage all the families here.

I spent some time living in Peru launching a ministry there that is now run entirely by Peruvians. I love that missions allow us to learn from different cultures. Two of the things I learned from the Peruvians were how to love with Christ’s love, and how to pray without ceasing, as well as the importance of prayer in all things. Missions whether in our community, in our country, or in the world bring us to a place of joy.

Lastly, I love coffee. I am always up for a cup of coffee - not the fancy kind (sure I can sometimes drink that as well), but just plain black coffee. Whether it's bringing someone coffee, having conversations while drinking coffee, or sitting alone outside with a book and some coffee, I love it. I believe coffee is quite certainly an unspoken love language, and it is definitely mine!
Again, I am so happy to be here with you at Rainbow Presbyterian Church and look forward to meeting each of you and working with many of you and especially your children!
