The Lord does some amazing things while His people worship. At Antioch long ago, the Lord set apart and called specific men to a specific work. The Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them” (Acts 13:2).

The Holy Spirit is still in the calling business. For every church in every generation, worship always leads to mission. A missional church like ours is a unified, worshipping body of believers intent on being God’s missionary presence to their community and world.

Therefore, why don't you read and pray through these two below requests:

  • Ask the Lord to show you specifically what your particular role is in helping to bring His salvation to others. How is the Lord calling you to adopt the posture, thinking, and practices of a missionary in order to engage others with the Gospel?
  • Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field. John Calvin declared back in the 1500s: “There never was greater necessity for offering this prayer than during the fearful desolation of the church which we now see everywhere around us.” What was true for the church in the 1500s is even more true now!
