What We Believe
Rainbow Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America or the PCA. This means we are a Protestant, Reformed, Evangelical denomination. You can go to our denominational website (pcanet.org) and get a feel for what we believe. In a nutshell, we are a conservative, Bible believing denomination.
Incidentally, the word Presbyterian has nothing to do with our beliefs about God, but it does describe the type of church government we have. (Presbuteros means elder led.) There are many Presbyterian churches around the country (even the world) that have different beliefs or theology (study of God).
RPC is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Our “branch” or particular denomination is very conservative and does not condone any of the liberal practices of the Presbyterian Church of the United States (PCUS). We are two totally separate entities with two totally separate governing bodies. We may share the name “Presbyterian”, but that is about it. Any decisions made by the PCUS does not affect the PCA.
We have two Sunday Worship Services, one at 8:30 AM and one at 10:45 AM. The early service has a more contemporary style, with a Praise Team. The 10:45 Service is a more traditional, with music from our choir.
Children’s Church is for 4K-1st Grade: A child friendly option for our younger ones which allows them to worship first with their families and then if desired, be excused prior to the sermon for an age appropriate lesson.
Sunday School is at 9:30 for children and adults.
Supper starts at 5:15 PM Find out about Wednesday meals HERE.
Classes for Children and Adults begin at 6:00 PM. for children and adults
For 2018: From May 17 through August 14, we are putting our regular Wednesday Activities on pause for the summer. Everything (meal and classes) will resume in the fall with our kickoff on August 15th.
