At Rainbow we believe that life is about
glorifying God by enjoying Him forever.
We do this by finding what our unique God given purpose and destiny is for
our lives. We believe that God has given each Christian special spiritual gifts to live out this
specific destiny in our lives. This is clear throughout scripture.
In order to have these gifts, one must
first be a Christian.
So how does one become a Christian? The ANSWER to the question is pretty clear.
STEP 1- The first step in becoming a Christian is to understand the character of God. One must realize that
God is perfect and to spend eternity with God one must be perfect. God is completely righteous and will not look upon
sin. (Matt. 5:48, Romans 12:2) This truth should lead us to the next spiritual truth which is that we humans
can not be perfect. Even trying to be perfect without Christ is self-centered and a sin. (Isaiah 64:6)
STEP 2-We must understand that we can't be perfect because as a human we are born with sin residing
in our hearts. (Psalms 51:5) We must realize that because of this we all sin on a daily basis. (Romans 3:9-18, 23).
Therefore we need a Savior, we need someone to bridge the gap between our imperfection and God's perfection.
STEP 3- The third step is realizing we find that Savior in Christ. (Romans 6:23, Romans 5:6-8) He has made perfect
those who accept and receive the gift of Christ. (Hebrews 10: 10, 14) We need Christ because we can not be "good
enough" on our own. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
STEP 4- The fourth step is receiving the gift of Christ when we acknowledge
our desperate need for a savior. When we repent of our sins, even our sin of thinking that we can be good enough. (Titus
3:5). Then when we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouths that Jesus
is Lord then we will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10) We must put our TRUST in Christ.
Step 5- The final and
ongoing step is to live a life in joy and love for Christ. We find that we are obedient because of our overwhelming
love for Chirst and what He has done for us. We are then God's workmanship created and gifted by God to do that
which God calls us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) We are a new creation able to do good things through the Holy Spirit given
to us when we believe. (II Corinthians 5:17-21)
Praise God that He Has ANSWERED the question of life! He
did not leave us to wonder around in the dark and be seperated from Him for eternity. He did not leave us to our own
demise. We have a hope in Christ! We have a reason to live everyday of our lives!
